William Thomas, 65, Reading, died June 25, 2007, at 3 a.m. in St. Joseph Medical Center, Bern Township, where he had been a patient three days. He was the husband of Mary K. (Boles) Thomas, Reading.
Born April 21, 1942, in Opelika, Ala., he was a son of the late Charley Lee Thomas and Georgia B. (Fitzpatrick) Thomas.
He was employed as a truck driver and construction worker by Dick Thomas in Reading. He also worked as an operating engineer for the Local 542.
Surviving in addition to his wife are three sons: James L., Anthony C., and Andrew L., all of Reading; and three daughters: Jean A. (Thomas) Brabham, Reading; Tracy L. (Thomas) Truesdale, Mohrsville; and Remelle P. Banks, Reading.
Other survivors include three brothers: Charles and John, both of Reading; and Randolph Thomas, Plano, Texas.
Also surviving are 16 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
There are also a niece, whom he helped raise, Virginia L. Allen; a special son-in-law, Tommy Truesdale; and a host of nieces and nephews whom he loved.
He was predeceased by a daughter, Jacqueline Thomas; three sisters: Elizabeth, Jacqueline and Judy; and two brothers, James and Tommie.
Services will be Friday at 1 p.m. in St. James Chapel Church of God in Christ, 11 S. Ninth St., Reading, PA 19602, Elder Steve McCracken officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park.
