William Russell Bowman Jr., 79, Reading, died June 13, 2007, at 4:45 p.m. in his residence. His wife, Mary I. (Drupp) Bowman, passed away May 16, 1997.
Born in Reading on Dec. 12, 1927, he was a son of the late William R. Bowman Sr. and Mary E. (Turner) Bowman.
Bowman was employed for more than 25 years as a maintenance mechanic by Crompton & Knowles of Reading and Birdsboro.
He was a Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War.
He was a member of the Reading Motorcycle Club.
Surviving are two sons, Russell C. Bowman, Reading, and Scott A. Bowman, Earlville.
Other survivors include a sister, Joan (Bowman) Biedler, Stony Creek Mills.
There are also six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a brother, Norman Bowman.
Services will be Monday at 10 a.m. in Whelan Schwartz Funeral Home, 444 N. Ninth St., Reading, with the Rev. Richard A. Grill officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery.
