Wilfred Kennington

Wilfred Martin A�a�A"NickA�a�A� Kennington, 83, Exeter Township, died Aug. 16, 2007, at 10:45 p.m. in Reading Hospital, where he was a patient for two days. Born in Buffalo, N.Y., he was a son of the late Harry and Dorothy (Graswick) Kennington.

He worked as a shipping foreman for Ford Motor Co. in Pittsburgh and Detroit for 30 years, retiring November 1989.

He was a Navy veteran of World War II and served in the Merchant Marines.

Surviving are two sons, Robert R. Kennington, with whom he resided; and Gary D. Kennington, Glassport, Pa.; and three daughters: Donna E. (Kennington) Phillips, Pittsburgh; Deborah A. (Kennington) Cintron, Upper Darby; and Darlene S. (Kennington) Waksmunski, Waynesboro, Va.

Other survivors include a sister, Dorothy (Kennington) Simbari, Pittsburgh.

There are also nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Berks County Association for the Blind, 2020 Hampden Blvd., Reading, PA 19604 or American Diabetes Association, 3544 N. Progress Ave., Suite 101, Harrisburg, PA 17110 in memory of Mr. Wilfred Martin Kennington.

Whelan-Schwartz Funeral Home, 444 N. Ninth St., Reading, is in charge of arrangements.
