Vincent E. Jackson Sr., 41, of Reading, passed away on Monday, October 6, 2008 at the Reading Hospital and Medical Center, where he had been a patient since Wednesday.
Born October 10, 1967 in Reading, he was a son of Raymond T. McFee Jr. of Philadelphia, and Charlotte Jackson Broadus, wife of Ken Broadus, of Harrisburg, and husband of Lucia (Picant) Jackson, at home.
He was a 1986 graduate of Reading High School. He worked as a Laborer for Associate Wholesale Inc. in Robesonia for the past 14 years, last working Tuesday.
He was a treasurer, coach, and grill man for the Northwest Athletic Association for many years. He enjoyed spending time with his family, watching sports, especially the Steelers, and being at his sons football games working in the food stand cooking.
In addition to his parents and wife, he is survived by grandmothers: Mary Jackson and Nancy McFee; sons: Vincent E. Jackson Jr., Erick Murray, and Corey, Shawn, and Tyler Jackson, all at home; grandchildren: Alexander Palmer and Aaren Jackson at home; brothers: James L. and Cameron L. Jackson, both of Reading; and many uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews.
Services from the Whelan Schwartz Funeral Home, 444 N. 9th St., Reading, Friday at 5:00 p.m. Friends will be received Friday from 2 to 5 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Northwest Athletic Association, c/o Chris Kutz, 1504 Bern St., Reading, PA 19604 to continue his quest to make good kids into great adults.
