Verna I. Hoch, 89, of Reading, passed away on May 23, 2008 at at the Evans Retirement Home in Fleetwood, where she had been a patient for three months. Born July 8, 1918 in Dryville, she was the daughter of the late Wilson M. and Ella (Kline) Hoch. She worked as a Presser for Talbot Knitting Mills for sixteen years, retiring in 1983. She also worked as a Beautician for Natalie's Beauty Salon, and assisted the Whelan Schwartz Funeral Home in the same capacity for many years. She also worked as a waitress for the Ranch House. She is survived by her sisters: Erma (Hoch) Mohl of Reading and Frances (Hoch) Reidenaur of Long Beach, CA; and nieces and nephews. Services from the Whelan Schwartz Funeral Home, 444 N. 9th St., Reading, Friday at 1:00 p.m. Rev. Larry D. Carl officiating. Interment in New Jerusalem Cemetery, Rockland Twp.
