Thomas Painter

Thomas J. Painter, 59, Sinking Spring, died May 24 at 10:10 a.m. in Reading Hospital.

Painter was involved in a motorcycle accident along Route 724 near Ridgeway Road in Cumru Township on May 21, officials said.

Further details on the accident and cause of death was pending from the Cumru Township Police Department and Berks County coroner's office.

Born in Reading, he was a son of Mary R. (Haley) Painter, a resident at ManorCare Health Services Inc., Spring Township, and the late Edward Painter.

Painter had been employed for nine years as a truck driver by Cott Beverages, Wyomissing.

He was an Army veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars.

Painter is also survived by two sisters, Joan M. Painter, Reading, and Charlotte A. (Painter) Miller, Philadelphia.

Services will be private. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery, Laureldale. Whelan Schwartz Funeral Home Inc. is in charge of arrangements.
