Thomas Alexander Garvin, 84, of West Chester, passed away on September 19, 2018 at Neighborhood Hospice.
Born in Lansdale in 1933, he was the son of the late Howard and Marguerite (Frommeyer) Garvin.
Thomas was a graduate of Villanova University. He went on to be employed for the Burroughs Corporation. Later in life he worked as a long distance driver for Danella Trucking and as a Handyman. He greatly enjoyed working on his '68 Mustang or in his workshop, building RC airplanes and tinkering with everything imaginable. He loved spending time with his family, playing cards and arguing about what Hoyle said.
Tom brightened everyone's day and excelled at making the people around him feel appreciated. He loved to talk to anyone and everyone. He was a joker that loved to tell stories.
Survivors include his children: Cynthia M. Arrowood, wife of John of Coatesville, Kathleen E. Dougherty, wife of Carey Buck of Oxford, Ashley M. Wood, wife of Joel of Downingtown, and Thomas A. Garvin, II, husband of Debbie of Spring City. Also surviving are 6 grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at St. Agnes Catholic Church of West Chester on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at 10:00am. Visitation with family will begin at 9:00am. Friends and family are invited to join Tom's children for lunch after mass. Details to follow.
