Sandra J. Frederick, 56, founder of the Helping Hands of Muhlenberg, died of natural causes Jan. 1 at 4:01 a.m. in her Muhlenberg Township residence.
She was the wife of Douglas E. Frederick.
Born in Leesport, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Louise Mary (Rauenzahn) Moyer.
Frederick was the founder of Helping Hands of Muhlenberg, which provided gift packages for needy children and the elderly from 1989 until 2002.
She was a member of St. John's (Gernant's) Lutheran Church, Ontelaunee Township.
Frederick is also survived by a son, Richard Linacre, Reading; and two daughters, Sherri L. Shade and Tammy (Linacre) Grim, both of Temple.
Other survivors include a brother, Robert Moyer, Reading, and six grandchildren.
Graveside services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. in St. John's (Gernant's) Cemetery. Whelan Schwartz Funeral Home Inc. is in charge of arrangements.
