Ruth M. (Brown) OA�a�a��Mara, 72, Reading, died Nov. 29, 2007, at 8 a.m. in the residence of her granddaughter, Kathleen OA�a�a�� Mara, West Reading. Her husband, James J. OA�a�a��Mara Sr., a retired Reading police officer, died March 7, 2007.
Born March 21, 1935, in Gibraltar, she was a daughter of the late Clarence Brown and Marcella (Hoffman) Swisher.
She was a member of the Jackson Democratic Club and ladies auxiliary and was an avid bingo player.
Surviving are three sons: George A. OA�a�a��Mara, Blaine, Wash.; and Timothy J. and Patrick J. OA�a�a��Mara, both of Lakewood, Colo.; and two daughters, Cynthia M. (OA�a�a��Mara) Jackson, wife of Gregory Jackson, Temple, and Kimberly M. OA�a�a��Mara, Tintah, Minn.
Other survivors include two sisters, June (Brown) Pleis, Orlando, Fla., and Barbara (Brown) Mishler, Vero Beach, Fla.; and five brothers: Clarence Brown, Bechtelsville; Robert Brown, Gilbertsville; Nelson Brown, in Missouri; Leroy Brown, Reading; and George Brown, Boyertown.
There are also six grandchildren: Clifford, Crystal, Kathleen, Brian Jr., Ashley M., and Ashley D.; two stepgrandchildren, Tara and John; four great-grandchildren: CJ, Tommy, Anthony and AJ; and four stepgreat-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a stepson, James J. OA�a�a��Mara Jr.; a stepdaughter, Sharon K. OA�a�a��Mara; two brothers, Dennis and Teddy Brown; two sisters, Delores (Brown) Mohn and Janet Brown; and a great-granddaughter, Alexus.
Services will be private. Whelan Schwartz Funeral Home, Reading, is in charge of arrangements.
