Ruth E. Darinsig (Jenkins)

Ruth E Darinsig 88, of Reading, passed away on Thursday, June 15, 2023, in the Mifflin Center. She was the wife of the late George Darinsig., who passed away January 7, 2019. Ruth was born in Pottsville, Pennsylvania.  She was the daughter of the late Thomas Jenkins, and Elsie Mae (Cooke) Jenkins. She was a candy packer at Hershey for 30 years until her retirement. Ruth loved going to Bingo and spending time with her friends

Ruth is survived by her children; Mary A Darinsig, Maureen Castillo, wife of Richard, John J Darinsig, husband of Tina, Robert C Darinsig, husband of Tracey and David D Darinsig, husband of Crystal.  Ruth was preceded in death by Michael Darinsig, Thomas Darinsig and Anne Mae Darinsig.  She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. 1 great great grandson.

Ruth is survived by her siblings Thomas, George, Wallace, Frank and Robert Jenkins.  Mildred Keiser, Dorothy Billings, Agnes and Elizabeth Jenkins

Funeral Services will be held in Whelan Schwartz Funeral Home 444 North 9^th Street Reading, Thursday June 22^, 2023 at 11:30 AM.  Interment will follow in Nativity BVM Ukrainian Catholic Church Cemetery.  The Family will receive relatives and friends in Whelan Schwartz Funeral Home Thursday, June 22, 2023 at 10:00-11:30 am.  Online condolences may be made at www.whelanschwartz.com
