Russell Joseph Buckingham Sr., 89, formerly of Yorktown Heights, N.Y., died Oct. 22 at 6:05 a.m. in the Lutheran Home at Topton, where he had resided 15 days.
He was taken to the Lutheran Home at Topton from Country Meadows of Wyomissing, where he had resided since May 2000.
His wife, Annie (Schupak) Buckingham, died in December 1990.
Born in New York City, he was a son of the late Joseph and Myrtle (Snow) Buckingham.
A professional photographer, Buckingham had his own studio in Mount Kisco, N.Y., for many years and was employed for many years as the staff photographer for the Northern Westchester Hospital, Mount Kisco, until his retirement.
He was an Army veteran of World War II.
A well-known amateur mineralogist, Buckingham was twice president of the Westchester (N.Y.) Mineral and Gem Society and secretary and president of the New York Mineral and Gem Society.
Buckingham, who resided with Dorothy Coryell, is survived by a son, Russell J. Jr., New York City and Bowers; and a daughter, Mahala (Buckingham) Burns, Lodi, Calif.
Other survivors include a grandson.
Services and burial will be private. Whelan Schwartz Funeral Home Inc. is in charge of arrangements.
