Rose M. (Wentzel) Cake, 78, Reading, died Nov. 4, 2007, at 1:35 p.m. in Mifflin Center, Cumru Township, where she had been a patient five years. Her husband, Clarence B. Cake, passed away June 29, 1998.
Born July 19, 1929, in Reading, she was a daughter of the late John F. Wentzel and Elizabeth (Small) Wentzel.
Mrs. Cake worked as a clerk for MoyerA�a�a��s Cigar Store and JimmyA�a�a��s Meat Market, both in Reading, for 24 years, retiring in 1996.
She enjoyed bingo and playing cards.
Surviving are a sister, June E. (Wentzel) Hillman, significant other of J. Donald Kirlin, Wernersville; and a brother, John W. Wentzel, Reading.
Other survivors include a son-in-law, Joseph L. Stajkowski, Wernersville; a sister-in-law, Vivian E. Cake, Kenhorst; and several nieces and a nephew.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Patricia A. (Cake) Stajkowski, on Feb. 16, 2004.
Services will be Thursday at 11:30 a.m. in the Whelan-Schwartz Funeral Home, 444 N. Ninth St., Reading, with the Rev. Steven E. Belinski officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park. Friends will be received Thursday 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. in the funeral home.
