Robert Schade

Robert J. Schade, 75, of Centerport, passed away July 11, 2016 in his residence while surrounded by family.
He was the husband of Judith A. (Kelichner) Schade.
Born in Mohrsville, he was the son of the late John and Fern (Stoudt) Schade.
Mr. Schade was a US Army veteran and an MP at Camp Perry. He worked as an electrician for the past 35 years, most recently employed by IBEW Local #743. Prior to becoming an electrician, he was a police officer for the city of Reading and Muhlenberg Township. He has also been the mayor of Centerport for many years.
He was a member of the Isaac Hiester Lodge No. 660.
Surviving in addition to his wife Judith is a daughter Joleen M. Schade, Hamburg; two brothers William Schade of Shoemakersville, Terrance Kelichner, husband of Natalie; four nieces Tracey, Tammy, Justine and Gretchen.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Mr. Schade's memory to Centerport Borough, PO. Box 248, Centerport, PA 19516. Contributions will be put toward purchasing security cameras for the Centerport playground.
