Richard Shadler

Richard D. "Dick" Shadler, 88, of Birdsboro, passed away Sunday, September 16, 2018 at 9:00 am in his residence. He was the husband of the late Dorothy L. (Zdradzinski) Shadler who passed away January 14, 2010. Born in Kulptown, Mr. Shadler was the son of the late Millard and Anna (Kulp) Shadler. He was employed in counter sales at Crane Electric in Reading as well as doing carpentry work on the side. Mr. Shadler is survived by his children Raquel D. Reitz, wife of Ryan F. Reitz of Birdsboro; Erica Achenbach, wife of Mark Achenbach of Kenhorst; Marsha Johnson and Sandra Kanowitcz and his grandsons Brett and Brandon Reitz and great granddaughter Arielle Reitz. He was preceded in death by his son Mike Shadler July 6, 2016.
Funeral Service will be held in Whelan Schwartz Funeral Home 444 North 9th Street, Reading, Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at 11:00 am. Reverend Kerry L. Hicks will officiate. Interment will follow in Birdsboro Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends in Whelan Schwartz Funeral Home Wednesday 10:00-11:00 am.
