Richard R. Gillette

Richard R. Gillette, 88, of Cumru Township, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 4, 2025 at Penn State Health St. Joseph Medical Center. He was the beloved husband of Gretchen E. (Heier) Gillette. Together they shared 48 years of marriage. Born on January 12, 1937, in Los Angeles, CA, he was the son of the late Robert J. and Eleanor J. (Reeves) Gillette. He served proudly in the United States Air Force. During his life, he worked as a Stockbroker for Eastern Equity Investments Inc. until retirement. Richard was an accomplished wood worker and avid Philadelphia Eagles fan. He was also a member of a band where he played the banjo.

Richard is survived by his wife Gretchen E. (Heier) Gillette, of Cumru Township; daughters, Loris J. Maurer, of Arizona; Rebecca Jeanne Dark, of Maryland; stepdaughters, Lisa A. McCloskey, of Warminster, PA; Sandra Jill Vannote, wife of David Orwig, of Maryland; 11 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his daughter Lisa A. McConaghy and two brothers.
