Raymond James Canfield, 85, of Leesport, passed away on Saturday, December 25, 2021 at Penn State Health St. Joseph’s Medical Center. He was the loving husband to Barbara Louise (Pass) for 39 years, before her passing in Februray 21, 2013 . Born in Hazelton, Raymond was the son of the late John P. and Kathryn (Bussetti) Canfield. Raymond served in the United States Army and worked as a CW 4 before his retirement from the Army. Raymond also served on the Harford County Sheriff’s Department for 20 years, becoming the rank of Lieutenant before his retirement.  Before moving to PA, Raymond was a member of First Baptist Church in Havre de Grace, MD.

One of Ray's favorite things was listening to music played by his wife Barbara, and his grandson, Stacey, as they played in various bands. He loved to volunteer by picking up food and delivering it to various food pantries. Ray loved to read, watch the Orioles play baseball and stay in shape by walking 5k each morning

Raymond is survived by his children, Alisa Marie Antoine, wife of Andre, of Leesport, Sheryl Ulishney, wife of Scott, of Bel Air, MD, and Ralph William Taylor, of CA, Sarah Pullan, of Cyprus, and Alison Balsdon, of Harrogate, England. He is also survived by his 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Raymond is also survived by his brother, Daniel Canfield, husband of Joan, of VA.

In addition to his wife, and parents, Raymond is predeceased by his children, Richard S. Taylor, Wesley A. Taylor, his grandson, James W. Ulishney, his brother Jack Canfield, and sister, Margaret Canfield.

Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Raymond’s memory to the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) Charitable Service Trust. Online condolences may be made at www.whelanschwartz.com
