Pauline Bortz

Pauline V. Bortz, 79, of Reading, passed away on Saturday, September 4, 2021 at ManorCare Laureldale. She was the beloved wife of Robert J. Bortz. Together they shared more than 50 years of marriage.

Born in Hummelstown, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Raymond Funck and Ethel Jones.

Pauline loved sports, she enjoyed watching baseball, football, basketball and loved the Philadelphia Eagles. She also loved and listened to I105 Rich & Casey show every morning for the past 2 years, where she became a celebrity in her own little way on the show as Rich and Casey would talk about her regularly.

In addition to her husband Robert J. Bortz of Reading, she is survived by her children, Dennis Bortz, of Reading; James Bortz, of Lower Alsace Township; Kevin Bortz, of Reading; Brian Bortz, of Reading; Paulette Bortz, of Reading; Yvonne Knight, of Erie, PA; and Jennifer Bortz, of Wyomissing.

Pauline is also survived by her 21 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her son John Bortz, who passed away in 1994.
