Miriam Lenich

Miriam L. Lenich, 87, formerly of Reading, died June 15 at 11:50 p.m. in ManorCare Health Services Inc., Muhlenberg Township, where she had been a resident for three years.
Her husband, Robert F. Lenich, died Nov. 3, 1991.
Born in Mohnton, she was a daughter of the late Norton and Elizabeth (Burkart) VanKirk.
Lenich had been employed for 11 years as a clerk by F.W. Woolworth Co., Reading, retiring in 1978.
She was a member of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Reading.
Lenich is survived by a daughter, Anita L. (Lenich) Barber, Exeter Township; and two sons, Frederick J., Exeter Township, and Francis E., Bentleyville, Washington County.
Other survivors include a sister, Irene A. (VanKirk) Barnard, Gouglersville.
There are also nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a son, Robert F. Jr.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery, Laureldale. Whelan Schwartz Funeral Home Inc. is in charge of arrangements.
