Mary A. Ulmer, 88, formerly of Reading, died June 21, 2008, at 4 p.m. in Mifflin Center, where she was a resident for 21/2 years. She was the widow of Irvin D. Ulmer, who died Feb. 6, 1989.
Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Ralph and Christine Haas.
She was a sewing machine operator for Gilberts Sportsware and RK Knitting Mills.
She was a member of First ECC, Reading.
Surviving are a daughter, Cynthia A., wife of Frederick Eckert, Robesonia; and a son, Irvin D. Jr., husband of Judy Ulmer, Shillington.
Other survivors include a sister, Dorothy Smith, Muhlenberg Township; and a brother, Ralph Haas, California.
There are also two grandchildren: Tricia Baltzer, Idaho; and Douglas Rice, Tennessee; and a great-granddaughter, Christina Rice, Florida.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Sandra Rice, on Dec. 29, 2006; and two grandchildren, Robert and Tracy; and two sisters.
Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. in Whelan Schwartz Funeral Home, 444 North Ninth St., Reading, with the Rev. William W. Hughes officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Reiffton.
