On Saturday, January 28, 2017, Marsha Kay (Rice) Gladfelter was released from the vessel her disease left behind.
Her journey began in Baltimore, MD in August of 1943 before moving with her family to Wilmington, DE where she stayed through High School. She was active in sports in High School including basketball and volleyball. She spent her summers in her childhood at Sea Isle City, NJ where her father and brother built a house with their bare hands.
She continued her adventure in adulthood to New Jersey, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Maryland and Florida. She was blessed with three children, Christian F. Gladfelter (NC), Heather G. Gladfelter (deceased) and Harry A. Gladfelter (PA). She also leaves behind six grandchildren.
Marsha was a hard worker who spent years in the hotel business. She was also an artist who painted and loved photography. She also enjoyed traveling. With her church, she was able to see the Greek ruins and the holy sites of Jerusalem. She also loved to go country line dancing with her wonderful friends when she was still able. Marsha's journey ended after a long battle with Alzheimer's in the loving care of the good people at Kutztown Manor.
