Loraine I. Mellor, 58, Wyomissing, died Nov. 22, 2007, at 11:05 p.m. in her residence. Born in Manchester, England, on June 9, 1949, she was a daughter of Frederick and Irene (Espley) Miller, Stockport, England.
She was a graduate of Leeds University of England.
A member of Berks Art Alliance, Ms. Mellor had paintings recently appear in a nationwide art tour, A�a�A"In Response to Healing.A�a�A�
She was chairperson of the fashion department at Albright College for the past three years. Prior to that, she was head designer for Elite Sportswear, Reading, for 12 years.
Ms. Mellor was also part owner/operator/designer at Knitwear & Textiles Design Co. of New York, N.Y.
Surviving is a son, Jeremy E. Mellor-Wideman, Wyomissing.
Other survivors include several nieces, nephews and cousins.
There are also two aunts, Jean Espley, Stockport, and Joan Mellor, Chesterfield, England; and an uncle, David Espley, London, England.
A Celebration of Life Service will be Saturday at 5 p.m. in her residence.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Loraine Mellor Scholarship Fund at Albright College, PO Box 15234, Reading, PA 19612.
The Whelan Schwartz Funeral Home, Reading, is in charge of arrangements.
