Leon Riegel

Leon R. Riegel, 83, of Shoemakersville, passed away April 8, 2013 at 2:55 am in St. Joseph Medical Center. He was the husband of Sonia A. (Contessa) Riegel. Born in Reading he was the son of the late Elwood and Goldie C. (Clevenger) Riegel. He was a postman for the United States Postal Service in Wernersville and served in the United States Navy during Korean War. In addition to his wife Mr. Riegel is survived by his sons Ronnie R. Riegel of Florida, Eddie D. Riegel husband of Bonnie L. Riegel of Exeter Township and Mark A. Riegel husband of Catreana F. Riegel with whom he last resided along with 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son Nino R. Riegel. Also surviving is his sister Joan Demarty of Wyomissing and his brother Harold Riegel husband of Dolly Riegel of Reading.
