Larry M. Heffner

Larry M. Heffner, 74, of Muhlenberg Township, passed away Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at 8:30 pm at Hershey Medical Center. Born in Reading, Mr. Heffner was the son of the late Merrill S. Heffner and Betty (Rothenberger) Hinnershitz. He served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam Era and was employed as a machine operator at Narrow Fabric Industries in West Reading for 34 years retiring in 2006. Mr. Heffner was an avid fisherman. He is survived by his daughter Dawn M. Kohl wife of Michael D. Kohl of Muhlenberg Township; his granddaughter Emily M. Kohl; sister Patricia A. Seisler wife of Richard J. Seisler II of Exeter Township and his brother Kerry “Butch” Reider husband of Catherine Reider of Wernersville. Survived by a niece Pamela Yeager (Jon), and nephews Forrest (Dawn), Jeffrey, and Jason (Jena) Pawling. He was predeceased by Step Father Winfield Reider, who raised him and Richard Hinnershitz. Both helped in the upbringing of his daughter Dawn. Dawn's family would like to extend gratitude and a heartfelt thanks for their loved ones: Larry's childhood friend Rick Speck, and all his friends at his Trailer Park on Tuckerton for their Dedication, Love and Laughter, to him. Friends that were more like Family to him. Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts. Also, to all those involved in helping make Larry's world a happier, brighter, and healthier place just by being there for him, we thank you. May God bless you all always. 

Funeral Service will be held at Whelan Schwartz Funeral Home 444 North 9th Street, Reading, Tuesday, November 19, 2024 at 11:00 am. Interment with Military Honors rendered by Topton American Legion Post 217 will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive relatives and friends at Whelan Schwartz Funeral Home Tuesday from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Wounded Warriors Project PO Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8516 in memory of Mr. Larry M. Heffner.
