Kenneth Drey, Sr

Kenneth M. Drey Sr., 70, of Valley View Mobile Park, Muhlenberg Township, died May 11 at 11:10 p.m. in his residence.

He was the husband of Iris N. (Rosado) Drey. His first wife, Kathryn H. (Hochman) Drey, died in 1998.

Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Claude A. Sr. and Alice (Neider) Drey.

Drey had been employed for 12 years as a truck driver by Preston Trucking Co., Reading, retiring in 1992. He previously worked for 22 years as a driver for Motor Freight, Reading.

He was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Reading.

Drey was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War.

He is also survived by a daughter, Sherry L. (Drey) Vazquez, Exeter Township; three sons, Kevin L. and Dean G., both of Reading, and Kenneth M. Jr., Huntington Beach, Calif.; and a stepson, Eric Diaz, Reading.

Other survivors include two brothers, Jack, Cumru Township, and Ronald, Lancaster; and two sisters, Shirley (Drey) Spencer, Muhlenberg Township, and Virginia (Drey) Brophy, Spring Township.

There are also four grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

Drey was predeceased by a daughter, Tina M. Drey, in 1966.

Services will be Thursday at 7 p.m. in St. Luke's Church. Graveside services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. in Berks County Memorial Gardens, Maidencreek Township. Whelan Schwartz Funeral Home Inc. is in charge of arrangements.
