Katherine M. Boyer Leas, 73, Reading, died March 26, 2007, at 4:20 a.m. in St. Joseph Medical Center, Bern Township, where she had been a patient two weeks. Her first husband, Lawrence E. Boyer, died in 1976.
Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late John and Helen (Reimiller) Scheider.
She was a homemaker
She was a member of St. PaulA�a�a��s Roman Catholic Church, Reading.
Surviving are a daughter, Diane (Boyer) Bailey, in Alaska; and three sons: David S. Boyer (Alice L.), Robesonia; Brian Leas (Yari), Florence, Mass.; and Daniel Boyer, in California.
Other survivors include a sister, Loretta (Scheider) Shifflett, (Edward), Reading.
There are also five grandchildren: Michael, Stephanie, and Tiffanie Boyer, Sabrina Jackson and Nathan Ramos; six great-grandchildren; three cousins: Joe Scheider, York; Charlie Scheider, Reading; and Barbara Scheider, Reading; a nephew, Wayne Shifflett, Kenhorst; and a niece, Becky Shifflett, Reading.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 a.m. in St. PaulA�a�a��s RC Church, the Rev. Andrew A. Ulincy, celebrant. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery. Viewing will be Wednesday 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. in the Bean Funeral Home, North 16th and Rockland streets, Hampden Heights. Whelan Schwartz Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
