Jose Borrero

Services for Jose Antonio Borrero Sr., 58, Reading, will be tonight at 8 in the Whelan Schwartz Funeral Home Inc.

Borrero died Sept. 24 at 8:50 a.m. in the infirmary of Laurel Highlands State Correctional Institution in Somerset, Somerset County.

The cause of death was an anoxic brain injury and the death was ruled an accident, officials said.

He was the husband of Maria O. (Perez) Borrero.

Born in Puerto Rico, he was a son of the late Domingo and Amparro (Hernandez) Borrero.

Surviving are four daughters: Elizabeth Borrero, Maria D. Perez and Seludra (Torres) Garcia, all of Reading; and Alida L. Borrero, in Puerto Rico.

Other survivors include four sons: Jose A. Borrero Jr., Luis A. and Edeleir Borrero, and David L. Gonzalez, all of Reading.

Also surviving are two brothers, Domingo and Gregoro Borrero and two sisters, Mercedes and Alida Borrero, all in Puerto Rico.

There are also 35 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
