Joan Hyneman-Higgins

Joan Marie (Conley) Hyneman-Higgins, 65, of Shillington, passed away on March 15, 2008 at 5:00 p.m. at home.
Born January 31, 1943 in Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late George and Jacqueline (Link) Conley, and wife of Earl A. Higgins. She was pre deceased by her first husband, Richard W. Hyneman, who passed away December 12, 1977.
She was a 1961 graduate of Archbishop Prendergast High School- Drexel Hill, and later received her Masters in Elementary Education from Westchester University.
She worked as an elementary education teacher at various schools, last working for the Harrisburg School district for ten years.
She is a member of St. John Baptist De La Salle R.C.C.- Shillington.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by 3 sons: Richard W. of Exton, Robert J. of Selden, NY, and Mike of Reading; 1 daughter: Deborah J. at home; 3 stepdaughters: Ida (Higgins) O'Donald and Barbara J. (Higgins) Rossman of Belfont, Earlene Higgins of Howard, PA; three grandchildren: Zachary, Nick, and Patrick J.; twelve step grandchildren: Eric, Randy, Corbin, Sarah, John, James, Ben, Eva, Kaleb, Grace, Shane, and Andrew; two brothers: Tom Conley of Dallas, TX, George Conley of Yarnell, PA; three sisters: Mary Ann (Conley) Wandell of Crisfield, MD, Jacqueline (Conley) Anderson of Dallas, TX; Connie (Conley) Cole of State College.
Memorial Mass of Christian Burial from St. John Baptist De La Salle, 420 Holland St., Shillington, Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. Rev. Richard H. Clement, celebrant. Private interment at Calvary Cemetery, Conshohocken, PA at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the PA Forestry Assoc., 56 E. Main St., Mechanicsburg, PA 17055.
