James B. Ubil, 94, Reading, died Dec. 28, 2006, at 1:30 a.m. in the Mifflin Center, Shillington, where he had stayed for a month.
He was the husband of Helen O. (Warfel) Ubil, Reading.
Born in Reading on Dec. 13, 1912, he was a son of the late Harry E. Ubil and Annie (Spohn) Ubil.
He worked as a needle straightener for Textile Machine Works, Reading, for 38 years, retiring in 1974.
He was a member of St. AndrewA�a�a��s Reformed Evangelical Church, Reading.
He served in the Army during World War II.
Ubil was a professional musician as a saxophonist with Harvey Marburger Band for 25 years. He played Roseland Ballroom in New York City in 1932 with the band and also played for 25 years with the Adlibs.
He also is survived by a daughter, Joan A. (Ubil) Yoder, Laureldale.
There also are a granddaughter, Lyndel (Yoder) Balthaser, Sinking Spring; and two great-grandsons, Ryan and Kyle.
Private graveside services will be held in Forest Hills Memorial Park at the convenience of the family.
