Hipolito Lebron, 79, Philadelphia, formerly of Puerto Rico, died June 25 at 9:59 a.m. in the residence of a son, Ismael Lebron, Reading. He was the husband of Maria J. DeJesus, in Puerto Rico.
Born in San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico, he was a son of the late Geraldo Gomez.
Lebron was the former owner-operator of a restaurant in Puerto Rico and also was a chef for several places in and around Philadelphia for many years.
He was a member of St. PeterA�a�a��s Roman Catholic Church, Reading.
Lebron enjoyed all types of fishing and he was a generous person.
He also is survived by three daughters: Julia (Lebron) Cotto and Margaret (Lebron) Maldanado, both of Reading; and Eva Lebron, Orlando, Fla.
Other survivors include five other sons: Hipolito Jr., and Efrem, both of Philadelphia; George, Quakertown; Benjamin, Reading; and Jaime, Allentown.
There also are 23 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. in Whelan Schwartz Funeral Home, 444 N. Ninth St., Reading, the Rev. Thomas J. Orsulak officiating. Burial will be in Charles Evans Cemetery. Calling hours are 10 to 11 a.m.
