Helen Mary Matthew, 81, formerly of Wyomissing, died July 28 at 5:10 a.m. in Phoebe Berks Health Care Center Inc., Wernersville. She had been a resident at Phoebe Berks Village since 2001.
Born in West Reading, she was a daughter of Alvin and Stella (Holzman) Wenrich.
Matthew was owner-operator of Marion House Hotel, Stouchsburg, for more than 25 years, retiring in 1970.
She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Stouchsburg.
Matthew was a graduate of Marion Township High School.
She is survived by a son, Dean L., Temple; and two daughters, Dianne M. (Matthew) Tomaszewski, Sinking Spring, and Derise { OK } A. Matthew, Denver, Lancaster County.
She was predeceased by a son, Dennis R. Matthew, in 2001.
There are also two grandsons.
Services will be Friday at 1 p.m. in Phoebe Berks Village Chapel. Burial will be in Christ Lutheran Cemetery, Stouchsburg. Whelan Schwartz Funeral Home Inc. is in charge of arrangements.
