Guila R. Marberger, 97, formerly of Bernville, died in the Berks Heim on May 16, 2015. She was predeceased by her spouse of 75 years, Carl R. Marberger, and their son, O. Dean Marberger, both of whom passed away in 2014. Born in 1917 at home in Yellow Springs, West Virginia, she was the daughter of Vause E. Whitacre and Mary Ellen (Haines). She was a graduate of Penn Township High School. She was employed as a telephone operator and later helped her sister, Verle H. Marberger, with her Avon business. She was a past president of the Bernville Women's Club. She was a long-time member of St. Thomas UCC in Bernville, where she loved teaching the Adult Sunday School Class. In her final years was a member of Kissinger's Lutheran Church near her residence in Wyomissing, PA. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Susan Z. Marberger, and two nieces and three nephews. She was predeceased by all five of her sisters.
