Grant E. Waren, 90, formerly of Reading, passed away on March 1, 2008 at 9:10 a.m. at Berks Heim, where he had been a patient for 5 years.
Born April 28, 1917 in Reading, he was a son of the late William H. and Lillie A. (Wilermuth) Waren, and husband of the late Dorothy (McGee) Waren, who passed away on December 10, 1992.
He was a US Army veteran, serving during World War II.
He worked as a truck driver/deliveryman for Northeastern Distributing Company for 29 years.
He is survived by a son: Donald Waren of Spring Hill, FL; daughters: Carol (Waren) Winnefeld of Katy, TX, and Sharon (Waren) Zdradzinski of Reading; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren.
He was pre deceased by a grandson: Michael T. Sarzynski, who passed away in July of 2007.
Services from the Whelan Schwartz Funeral Home, 444 N. 9th St., Reading, Thursday at 1:00 p.m. Rev. Larry D. Carl officiating. Private interment in Berks County Memorial Gardens Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Friends received Thursday from 12:00 Noon to 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
