George Messner

George T. “G.T.” Messner, 80, of Robesonia, passed away Friday January 8, 2021 at 4:00 am in Berks Heim.  He was the husband of Sandra T. (Fernandez) Messner.  Born in Philadelphia, Mr. Messner was the son of the late Thomas and Eva (Rumph) Messner.  He was a graduate of Thomas Edison High School in Philadelphia and served in the United States Navy for 20 years serving in Vietnam.  He later was a laborer at CarTech for 20 years and was a youth bowling coach at Berks Lanes.  In addition to his wife, Mr. Messner is survived by his sons Thomas E. Messner and Michael C. Messner both of Robesonia and his granddaughter Chloe A. Messner.

Graveside Service with Military Honors rendered by the United States Navy Honor Guard will be held at Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Wednesday January 20, 2021 at 1:00 pm.  Whelan Schwartz Funeral Home, 444 North 9th Street, Reading is in charge of arrangements and online condolences may be made at www.whelanschwartz.
