Fred Jackson Jr., 56, Reading, died Feb. 11, 2007, at 4:05 p.m. in St. Joseph Medical Center, Bern Township, where he had been a patient two weeks.
He was the husband of Patricia A. (Carraway) Jackson, Reading.
Born in Chadburn, N.C., on Feb. 25, 1950, he was a son of the late Fred Jackson Sr. and Mary (Snowden) Jackson.
Jackson was employed for more than 20 years as a kitchen helper by Reading Hospital.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a stepdaughter.
Other survivors include four brothers: Eugene (husband of Alfew) Snowden, Jersey City, N.J.; Ulysess (husband of Esther) Snowden, Bronx, N.Y.; Larry (husband of Mualla) Jackson, Kansas City, Mo.; and Roger Jackson, Chadburn, N.C.
There also are three sisters: Rosalee and Lois Jackson, both of Chadburn, N.C.; and Jackie (Jackson) Montgomery, Evergreen, N.C.
Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. in Whelan Schwartz Funeral Home Inc., 444 N. Ninth St. Reading. Burial will be in Charles Evans Cemetery. Calling time will be 1 to 2 p.m. in the funeral home.
