Francis J. Grady, 90, Muhlenberg Township, died July 22 at 6:40 a.m. in ManorCare Health Services Inc., Muhlenberg Township, where he had been a resident for more than six months.
He was the husband of Ruth N. (Schwenk) Grady. His first wife, Esther M. Grady, died in 1976.
Born in Elmira, N.Y., he was a son of the late Joseph and Lena Grady.
Grady had been employed for 20 years as a machine design engineer by Unex Machine and Tool Co. Inc., Cumru Township, retiring in 1980. He held two patents on designs he formulated.
He was a 1933 graduate of Shillington High School.
Grady was a life member of the Pricetown Rod and Gun Club.
He is also survived by a son, Terrence P., Mohnton; and two daughters, Judy (Grady) Tice, Reading, and Eileen (Grady) Gilbert, Exeter Township.
Other survivors include a stepdaughter, Nancy (Berger) Straihn, Reading; a stepson, David Berger, Mohnton; and a brother, John, Reading.
There are also 14 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be Thursday at 10 a.m. in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Reiffton. Whelan Schwartz Funeral Home Inc. is in charge of arrangements.
