Forrest A. Messner, 73, died of natural causes March 23 in his residence in Reading.
Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Herbert and Margarite (Noll) Messner.
Messner was employed for 20 years as a water-meter reader for the City of Reading until his retirement.
He was a 1949 graduate of Reading High School.
Surviving are a son, Jeff S., New Ringgold, Schuylkill County; and a daughter, Donna Messner, Reading.
Other survivors include a brother, David, Birdsboro.
There are also seven grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.
He was predeceased by a son, Steven A. Messner, in 2001.
Whelan Schwartz Funeral Home Inc. is in charge of arrangements.
