Floyd Geibel

August 9, 1919 — December 21, 2002

Floyd F. Geibel, 83, of Bernville Road, Penn Township, died Dec. 21 at Berks Heim Annex, where he had been a patient since September.

His wife, Mary H. (Harter) Geibel, died Dec. 17, 2001.

Born in Cumru Township, he was a son of the late Frederick and Nora (Freeman) Geibel.

Geibel had been employed for 20 years as a technician by UGI, retiring in 1987.

He was an Army veteran of World War II.

Geibel was a life member of the Grill Fire Company.

He is survived by a daughter, Chris A. (Geibel) Gordon, Bernville, and a son, Craig, of Tracy, Calif.

Other survivors include a stepson, Ronald DeLong, in California, and three stepdaughters: Nancy (DeLong) Hinkle, Leesport; Susette (DeLong) Dailey, in Connecticut; and Mary Lou (DeLong) Frey, in Texas.

There are also six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, nine stepgrandchildren and three stepgreat-grandchildren.

Services will be private. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Spring Township. Whelan Schwartz Funeral Home Inc., Reading, is in charge of arrangements.
