Fannie S. "Faye" Martorana, 95, of Temple, passed away on Saturday, March 20, 2010 at 2:30 a.m. at the Reading Hospital & Medical Center, where she had been a patient for one day.
Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Anthony Bonanno and Rosalia (Piro) Bonanno. She was the widow of Samuel Martorana, who passed away in 1939, and Joseph Martorana.
During World War II, she worked at Jacobs Aircraft Factory in Pottstown to do her part for the war effort.
She was a wonderful cook, and her family always looked forward to what she prepared, especially during the holidays.
She was a member of Holy Guardian Angels Church- Hyde Park.
She is survived by her daughters: Grace R. (Martorana) Kline, with whom Mrs. Martorana resided, and Joelynn L. (Martorana) Vagnoni of Mt. Penn.
There are also three grandchildren: David L. Kline, husband of Kathleen Kline of Sinking Spring, Joanne (Kline) Mulvey, wife of Thomas Mulvey of Pottstown, and P.J. Vagnoni, and seven great grandchildren: Heather, Dane, Hilary, and Sasha Kline, and Samantha, Sarah, and Alexander Mulvey.
She is also survived by a sister: Stella (Bonanno) Pingitore of Kenhorst.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was pre deceased by an infant son: Samuel Jr.; an infant daughter: Rosalie; brothers: Anthony, John, Ted, and Andy Bonanno; and a sister: Sara (Bonanno) Giamo.
Mass of Christian Burial from Holy Guardian Angels R.C.C., 3121 Kutztown Rd., Hyde Park, Tuesday, March 30th at 10:00 a.m. Entombment at Gethsemane Cemetery. Friends received Tuesday from 9 to 10:00 a.m. at the Church.
