Emma Grassi

Emma M. Grassi, 78, of Reading, passed away on June 15, 2009 at the Wyomissing Nursing & Rehab. Center, surrounded by her family. She was born in Reading, PA, a daughter of the late Harry and Amanda (Pierce) Stalnecker.

Emma was a 1948 graduate of Reading High School. Children were the center of her life and she loved putting a smile on their faces. Emma enjoyed bingo, playing the slots at the casino, dining out, and watching the Price is Right with Bob Barker.

She is survived by her six children: Sandra L. of Seacaucus, NJ; Leonard C. and Michael A. of Wernersville, Mark S., husband of Holly (Coller) Grassi of Reading, Michelle A. of Reading and Steven A. of Spring City.

There are also 10 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren.

She is also survived by sisters: Hazel (Stalnecker) Seidel, widow of Richard Seidel of Reading, and Maizie (Stalnecker) Holland, wife of Donald Holland of Morgantown, and a brother: Andrew Stalnecker, husband of Doreen Stalnecker of Reading.

During the last years of her life, Emma was lovingly cared for by Lori and Stuart Carter and their family- living in Ann Arbor, MI, Rockville, MD, and Mt. Penn, PA.

Graveside services will be held at Forest Hills Memorial Park, 391 W. Neversink Rd., Reading, PA 19606, Friday at 10:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate contributions made in Emma's name to The Wyomissing Nursing and Rehab. Center, Attn: Administrator, 10000 East Wyomissing Blvd, Reading, PA 19611.
