On Monday, September 17, Elizabeth (Betty) Sarah Boyer passed away at the age of 91 years. Born in Reading, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Harvey Elmer and Edna Marie (Adams) Dice. She is survived by her three children: Sharon Blankenship of Oreana, IL, Carol (Joseph) Montalbano of Quakertown, PA, and Janet (Anthony) Comberiate of Clarksville, MD, nine grandchildren: Anthony, Angela (James), Joseph (Amy), Jennifer (Ryan), John (Kelli), Thomas (Emily), Matthew (Danielle), David and Daniel, seven great-grandchildren, and brother James L. Dice of Las Vegas, NV. Betty was predeceased by her brother Harvey P. Dice and son-in-law Eugene Blankenship.
Betty graduated from Mt. Penn High School in 1945 and received an Associate's Degree in Accounting from the University of Pennsylvania in 1948 and a Certificate from Pace Institute in 1985. During her career, she worked as a bookkeeper or accountant for many companies including CNA Insurance Corporation, Brown Engineering Company, Manson-Billard, Inc. and John H. Corbit, Inc. Over her lifetime, Betty was a member and usually an officer in many organizations such as Camp Fire Girls, Institute of Management Accountants, Berks County Genealogical Society, Northmont Fellowship Association, Catholic Woman's Club of Berks County, and the Historical Society of Berks County. She also has been a member of St. Margaret's Catholic Church for over sixty-five years. Over the years, Betty participated in numerous pastimes such as reading, embroidery, camping, dancing, traveling, and genealogical research.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Margaret's Catholic Church, Centre Avenue and Spring Street, Reading, PA 19601, on Monday, September 24, 2018, at 11:30 a.m. Interment will be in the Laureldale Cemetery following the mass.
