Efigenio Torres, Sr., 92, of Carbon Street died April 9 at 4:25 a.m. in his residence.
His wife, Monserrate (Rivera) Torres, died in 1992.
Born in Villalba, Puerto Rico, he was a son of the late Crespin and Rosaura (Santiago) Torres.
Torres had been employed for more than 20 years in shipping and receiving by the St. Vincent de Paul Society, New York City, retiring in 1962.
He was a member of La Roca de Salvacion Church, Reading.
Torres is survived by a son, Efigenio Jr., New Yoek City; and two daughters, Sarah Torres, with whom he last resided, and Lydia Torres, Reading.
There also are 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be Monday at 1 p.m. in Whelan Schwartz Funeral Home Inc. Burial will be in Charles Evans Cemetery.
