Edward A. Wawrzonek, 74, of South 18th Street, died April 3 at 8:40 a.m. in his residence. He was the husband of Genevieve V. (Sabulsky) Wawrzonek.
Born in Reading, he was a son of the late George and Julia (Glodzik) Wawrzonek.
Wawrzonek had been employed for more than 30 years as a molder by Reading Gray Iron Castings Inc., retiring in 1992.
He was a member of St. Stephen's Polish National Catholic Church, Cumru Township.
Wawrzonek was an Army veteran of the Korean War.
He was the founder of the local Eddie W. Polka Band.
Wawrzonek is also survived by a son, Joseph E., Fleetwood, and two daughters, Janet A. (Wawrzonek) Reed, Temple, and Nancy J. (Wawrzonek) O'Donnell, Orland Park, Ill.
Other survivors include three sisters: Dolores (Wawrzonek) Sabulsky, Montrose Manor; Amelia (Wawrzonek) Schade, Shillington; and Stella (Wawrzonek) Mackiewicz, Reading.
There are also six grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. in St. Stephen's Church. Burial will be in St. Stephen's National Cemetery, Kenhorst. Whelan Schwartz Funeral Home Inc. is in charge of arrangements.
