Dorothy Wertz

Dorothy H. Wertz, 92, passed away Thursday, October 27, 2016. She was the wife of the late Spencer W. Wertz, Sr. who passed away in 1981. Born in Reading, Mrs. Wertz was the daughter of the late William and Florence (Seiders) Czarnecki. She was the owner/operator of Dotty's Restaurant on Walnut Street in Reading from 1970-1983 and was a member of Saint Peter the Apostle Church in Reading. Mrs. Wertz is survived by her son Spencer W. Wertz, Jr., husband of Carol A. Wertz of Spring Township and her daughter Maryann L. (Wertz) Holt, wife of the late Bruce G. Holt, Sr. with whom she last resided. She is also survived by her 8 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. Also surviving is her sister Catherine Czarnecki; half brothers Thomas and Charles Tillman and was preceded in death by 2 granddaughters, 2 great grandsons and 8 siblings.
