Dolores Spanier

Dolores T. (Loeper) Spanier, 90, passed away Tuesday, June 27th, in Berkshire Center. She is predeceased by her loving husband, George, to whom she married on July 9, 1949, now together again.
Born in Reading, PA on December 25, 1926, she was the daughter of Leo and Cecelia Loeper, deceased. Dolores was a member of Saint Catharine of Siena Roman Catholic Church, Exeter Township, and was a member of the Mount Penn Senior Club. She was a graduate of Reading Central Catholic High School, Class of 1944.
Dolores is predeceased by 5 siblings and survived by 5 siblings.
Dolores enjoyed life as a wife and mother. She was a faithful Antietam pool member, making sure all her children had their lessons and had ample opportunity to enjoy swimming. Her cookie baking at home at Christmas was a big family event.
Dolores enjoyed the yearly summer Loeper get-togethers with her siblings, nieces, nephews and children and grandchildren. She and her husband greatly enjoyed traveling, including flying. Dolores was a devout religious woman.
Dolores is survived by her children, Barbara A Rough, wife of George Rough; Suzanne M. Young, wife of Gerald Young; George B. Spanier, husband of Carol Spanier; James A. Spanier, husband of Christine Spanier; and her baby boy, Robert J. Spanier, husband of Cheryl Spanier, along with13 grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Catharine of Siena Chapel, 2427 Perkiomen Ave., Mount Penn, Thursday, July 13, 2017 at 11:30 AM. Monsignor Edward R. Domin will be the celebrant. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family. Friends may call at 10:45 AM.
