Diane Xavios-Essick

Diane L. (Killian) Xavios-Essick, 62, of West Lawn passed away on Monday, February 6, 2023 in Promedica – West Reading.  Born in Norristown, she was the daughter of the late Anna (Rosenstiehl) Killian and Kenneth Killian, Sr.  Diane graduated from Wilson Sr. High School in 1979 and continued her education at Beauty School but found a career as a Manager of a PA State Liquor Store for 25 years before retiring.  Diane was very devoted to her family, after retirement she personally took care of her mother for many years.  Every summer Diane and her son, Michael would travel to the beach.  Diane cherished every moment she spent with her family.  When Diane was younger she loved to ride horses and even won some medals at competitions.

Diane is survived by her son, Michael P. Xavios, of West Lawn, and her siblings, Kenneth Killian, Jr., of Sinking Spring, and Karen Poli, of Hopatcong, NJ.

A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at 1:00 pm in Whelan Schwartz Funeral Home, 444 N. 9th Street, Reading, PA 19601.  Celebrant Amy Landis to celebrate.  The family will receive friends and relatives on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.  Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Shillington.  Whelan Schwartz Funeral Home, Reading is in charge of arrangements and online condolences may be made at www.whelanschwartz.com.
