- Dean G. Drey, 54, of Birdsboro, passed away on Thursday, November 7, 2024, in his home. Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Kathryn H. (Hockman) and Kenneth M. Drey, Sr. He worked as a Foreman for the Reading Area Water Authority for 35 years. He loved playing video games and reading comics. He enjoyed watching the Philadelphia Phillies, Miami Dolphins, and WWE. Dean adored his cats, Midnite and Pinball.
- Dean is survived by his siblings, Sherry Vazquez, Kenneth Drey, Jr., and Kevin Drey, husband of Brenda. Also surviving are his nieces and nephews, Christie Vazquez, Troy Vazquez, Nicole Weiss, and Kyle Drey, and his great nieces and nephew, Bailee, CJ, Harlee, and Teagan. Dean is predeceased by his sister, Tina M. Drey.
- A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, November 15, 2024, at 11:00am in Whelan Schwartz Funeral Home, 444 N. 9th Street, Reading. The family will receive friends and relatives on Friday, November 15th from 10:00am to 11:00am. Interment will follow the service at Berks County Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in honor of Mr. Dean G. Drey to the Catworks, P.O. Box 15171, Reading, PA 19612-5171 or at thecatworksinc.org.
