Clayton N. Riffle, 70, Reading, died Feb. 22 at 3:30 p.m. in the Trans Level Care Center of St. Joseph Medical Center, where he had been a patient since Feb. 17.
He was the husband of Jean R. (Henne) Riffle.
Born in Ligonier, Westmoreland County, he was a son of the late Merle and Bessie (Berkey) Riffle.
Riffle had been employed as a stocker by Publix Food Store, Naples, Fla.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Reading.
Riffle was a graduate of Ligonier High School.
He was an Army National Guard veteran.
Riffle is also survived by three daughters: Beverly (Riffle) Gardener and Valerie (Riffle) Turnbull, both of Sevierville, Tenn.; and Lisa (Riffle) Simms, Richmond, Va.; and three stepsons: James P. Tyrrell, Wyomissing; William J. Tyrrell, Reading; and Brian M. Tyrrell, Temple.
Other survivors include a brother, Ronald, Laughlintown, Westmoreland County, and a sister, Nancy (Riffle) Yothers, Ligonier.
There are also 10 grandchildren, four stepgrandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Burial will be in Berks County Memorial Gardens, Maidencreek Township. Whelan Schwartz Funeral Home Inc. is in charge of arrangements.
