Christopher Stankiewicz

Services for Christopher J. Stankiewicz, 23, who died May 23, will be Friday at 12:30 p.m. in Whelan Schwartz Funeral Home Inc.

Burial will be in Berks County Memorial Gardens, Maidencreek Township.

Stankiewicz, Lower Heidelberg Township, was involved in a one-car crash along Shartlesville Road in Penn Township which occurred about 4 p.m., officials said. Stankiewicz, the driver, and another passenger in the vehicle were pronounced dead at the scene.

Death certificate information was pending from the Berks County coroner's office.

Born in Reading, he was a son of John B. Stankiewicz Jr., Lower Heidelberg Township, and Sheila M. (Hartman) Bowman, Shillington.

Stankiewicz had been employed in the detail department of Reading Equipment & Distribution, Bowmansville.

He is also survived by a daughter, Tabatha L. Stankiewicz, Tamaqua, Schuylkill County.

Other survivors include a brother, Brad J. Bowman, Shillington; two sisters, Candice L. Stankiewicz, Lower Heidelberg Township, and Crystal A. (Stankiewicz) Wanous, Reading; and two stepbrothers, Dondi Moser, West Lawn, and Jaime Moser, Lower Heidelberg Township.

Additional survivors include his paternal grandparents, John B. Stankiewicz Sr. and Emelie (Ruth) Stankiewicz, Birdsboro; his stepmother, Karen J. (Moser) Stankiewicz, Lower Heidelberg Township; and his stepfather, Warren F. Bowman Jr., Shillington.
