Carl R. Marberger, 95, formerly of Bernville, died in the Berks Heim on Sunday, June 22, 2014. He was the husband of Guila R. Marberger who was with him at the time of his passing. They were blessed to celebrate their 75th wedding anniversary in October of 2013. Born in 1919 Upper Tulpehocken, Carl was the son of Raymond H. Marberger and Nettie L. (Leiss). He was a 1937 graduate of Penn Township High School. Carl worked for his father's business, R.H. Marberger Feed and Lumber Mill until the 1970's and when he was employed by Moyer's Meat Packing Company. A natural athlete, Carl was an avid baseball player, golfer and bowler. He was a long-time member of St. Thomas UCC in Bernville and in his final years was a member of Kissinger's Lutheran Church near his residence in Wyomissing, PA. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, O. Dean Marberger, husband of Susan V. Marberger, of Laureldale, PA. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his beloved brother, Franklin W. Marberger.
