Bernice Shive

Bernice Ruth (LaPierre) Shive, 90, of Bethel, passed away on Saturday, July 24, at Manor Care, Sinking Spring.  Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of Frederick and Ruth Ellen (Webber) LaPierre. She was the loving wife to Ernest William Shive before he had passed away. Bernice was known for her love that shown to everyone who came in to contact with her, and always put those she loved and would come to love before her. She also enjoyed fishing, but the thing that brought her the most joy, was just being able to be a loving mother to her children.

Bernice is survived by her children, Ruth Ann MacGregor, wife of Gordon, of Bethel, David Gray Sr., of Berks County, and John Jacobs of Tampa, Florida.  She is also survived by 20 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great grandchildren. Bernice is also survived by her sisters, Dorothy Dubler, Anita Guzman, Yvonne Morales, Rose Webber, and Theresa Hesper. Predeceasing Bernice is her brothers, Fred LaPierre, Joseph LaPierre, and Edward LaPierre.
